ARE ELDER CARE GROUPS & SMALL GROUPS THE SAME THING?
No, Elder Care Groups and Small Groups are two different ministries. Eldercare is designed to provide Elder Care to the congregation as needs arise. Everyone in our church family is in an Elder Care Group. Small Groups meet regularly to study God’s Word, pray, provide accountability and fellowship.
Only those who want to be a part of Small Groups will belong to this ministry.
WHO OVERSEES EACH SMALL GROUP?
Each Small Group has a Facilitator and a Host. The facilitator leads the Bible study and organizes
prayer and fellowship times. The Host provides a place to meet and arranges any other physical needs for the group.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE AND VISION OF SMALL GROUPS?
Small Groups exist for the purpose of “Fostering biblical relationships.” The vision of Small Groups
is “Promoting Christ-like community and mutual ministry through spiritual, relational, and
evangelistic growth.”
WHAT WILL SMALL GROUPS STUDY?
Study guides will be produced based on the Sunday Morning message. Each group will use the study guide to dig deeper into the passages studied during the morning message. Each participant should come ready to engage in the conversation. The study guides can be found on the church website on Sunday before the week that Small Groups meet.
WHEN & WHERE WILL SMALL GROUPS MEET?
There are currently five groups scattered throughout Byron Center, Hudsonville, Wyoming, and Dorr, so there is sure to be one near you. Groups will meet at various times throughout the week. Make sure you check on times with the facilitator or host of the group you would like to attend.
WHAT SMALL GROUP SHOULD I ATTEND?
While the groups are spread out geographically, you can attend any group you would like to attend. Some groups will naturally be more kid-friendly, while others may not. Feel free to choose the group that best fits your schedule and family.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
At the beginning of each Small Group semester, there will be sign-up sheets that give you each group's day, time, and location. However, you can join a small group at any time. You can contact a facilitator or host for more information or call the office for details.
