Although I have great appreciation for the historical value and heritage provided in the KJV of the Bible, we use the NASB here in our ministry. Our conviction is that the "autographa" were the inspired texts and everything else is valuable to the degree that they conform to those original documents. The presence of "variant readings" exist of course between the various manuscript families. I believe that God has supernaturally preserved His Word in fulfilment of the promise of Jesus Christ in Matthew 5:18. Consequently, within the variant readings, the original is still preserved. Through study and the exercise of spiritual discernment, we are able to make conclusions regarding the "best" reading.
It is not necessary to pursue this matter farther regarding sending information. I appreciate the KJV and believe that God has used it mightily - and continues to do so. The "version" controversy is not an issue that I believe merits prolonged debate.
I trust this helps. Richard W. Gregory
