Does the term "Son of Man" refer to Jesus or Satan?

The term "Son of Man" is indeed a title for the Messiah and emphasizes that the divine Messiah would also the one fulfilling the prophecy of Genesis 3:15 where the "seed" or offspring of Adam and Eve would destroy the Devil and his purposes. One of Jesus' favorite references to Himself, it occurs 89 times in the New Testament, with 85 of those being in the Gospels as Jesus used it of Himself.

As the "second Adam," the Lord Jesus Christ or "the Son of Man" will come in glory to rule the world in righteousness, sitting on the throne of His father, David. Thus, the basic thrust of the title is to identify Christ Jesus with humanity as the fulfilment of the promised Messiah.

I trust this will be of assistance.
